 If you are looking for a piece of land or a place to live, Rayong province is the up and coming area.  The Rayong area is a quiet clean area with beautiful beaches and not yet a lot of foreigners. There is a good 4 lane road all the way to Klaeng, and it is about a two and one half hour drive from Bangkok.  There is public transportation (bus) every 2 hours, or we can make arrangements to pick you up from Bangkok. Rayong is the fruit capital of Thailand with some of the best fruit of its variety in the world, there are many different kinds of fruit in season.  You can visit the islands in the area, namely Koh Samed, Koh Man Nai (the queens giant sea turtle breeding facility) and many small islands. There is good diving and snorkeling, with coral and many fish around the islands. This area is famous for its many good seafood restaurants, with very fresh seafood. Most areas have a lot of vegetation, since there is not yet a lot of development, this is an area to get away from it all.
